In operation since 1961, the Regina Steelmaking complex produces carbon steel slabs, discrete plate and coil. With an annual capacity of 1 million tons, scrap metal is converted to liquid steel in two electric arc furnaces, and then cast into slabs and subsequently hot rolled, using Steckel mill technology.
